Sequential evaluation: results calculated immediately after each operator
Your recent calculations will appear here.
A standard (or handheld-style) calculator performs arithmetic operations sequentially as you enter them. Each time you press an operator, the calculator immediately computes the result of the previous operation and displays it. This is different from algebraic (PEMDAS) evaluation, where all operations are parsed before calculating.
This type of calculator is ideal for quick sums, shopping totals, budgeting, homework, and simple number checks. It matches the behavior of most physical handheld calculators from the last few decades.
This calculator is designed for standard arithmetic only. It does not include scientific functions such as square roots, exponents, or trigonometry. The calculator uses sequential evaluation (like a handheld calculator), not algebraic order-of-operations (PEMDAS).
Keyboard support: Press number keys (0–9), operators (+, −, ×, ÷), decimal point (.), equals (Enter or =), Backspace to delete, and Escape to clear.

It performs the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using sequential evaluation—each result is calculated immediately as you enter operators.
Yes. You can enter decimal numbers like 2.5, 0.75, or 19.99 and calculate them normally. The display shows up to 8 decimal places.
You can use the ± button to toggle the sign of any number in the display, or press the minus operator (−) before entering your first number to negate it.
The calculator shows an error message because division by zero is undefined.
This calculator computes results immediately as you work, similar to old handheld calculators. For example: 8 × 3 ÷ 2 calculates as (8 × 3) = 24, then (24 ÷ 2) = 12. It does not use PEMDAS rules for the entire expression.
Yes. After you see a result, you can press another operator, and the result will be used as the first number in the next calculation.
Yes. It stores your 8 most recent completed calculations so you can quickly review what you have entered.
Results are rounded to 8 decimal places for display. However, internal arithmetic uses standard JavaScript floating-point, so some decimal operations may show minor rounding artifacts. For financial calculations requiring exact precision, consider using a specialized tool.
