Compare two pizza sizes to find the best value per square inch.

Pizza area increases with the square of the radius (A = πr²). This means an 18-inch pizza is actually more than twice the size of a 12-inch pizza, even though the diameter is only 50% larger.
This is the only way to truly compare pizza value. Restaurants often price larger pizzas much more competitively because the labor cost is similar, but the food volume is significantly higher.
Economically, yes. Larger pizzas almost always have a lower price per square inch. However, if you want more variety in toppings, ordering multiple smaller pizzas might be worth the extra cost.
This calculator assumes similar crust thickness. If you're comparing a deep dish to a thin crust, the volume of food will be significantly different even if the area is the same.
An 18" pizza (254 sq in) is 2.25x larger than a 12" pizza (113 sq in). That's why larger pizzas are almost always better value, even if they cost more in total dollars.
