Calculate the distance to the horizon and how much an object is hidden by the Earth's curvature.
This calculator uses geometric curvature based on a spherical Earth with a radius of 6,371 km. It does not account for atmospheric refraction, which typically allows you to see slightly further than the geometric horizon.
Standard atmospheric refraction typically increases the visible distance by about 7%. If an object is "hidden" by 10 meters, it means the bottom 10 meters of that object are below your line of sight.
