Easter is calculated as the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox (approximately March 21). This means Easter can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25.
The algorithm used here is the Anonymous Gregorian algorithm, which has been used since 1582 when Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar reform. This mathematical formula eliminates the need to track actual astronomical events.
